I think your points are very valid. My advice is to get another doctor.
Mine is fantastic. He takes his time. He lets me take my time.
He is the same for my husband and sister- I love the guy and am so happy I found him.
And I will add something else- I'm an RN and I can't say it loud enough - we HAVE to be our own advocates!!

I would change doctors....and just an FYI...I found I had all sorts of problems the "specialists" were treating me for and I researched and found I had aspartame poisoning from drinking too much diet soda. It caused allergic reactions to so many things, a stroke, gastroenterits and the list goes on.

GET A NEW DOCTOR!!! If he will not listen to you then what good is he? Mine listens to me and we have ucovered a few things and now am better and off of half of my meds.

All doctor's aren't like that. Sadly, a great many these days do not listen to their patients. They are in a hurry, know they have to get through everything in fifteen minutes or less, probably haven't had a chance to read your file. They overbook themselves to keep their income up where their profession dictates that it should be and can't do their patients justice. It's a sad situation but not entirely universal yet. My doctor is my age. He's kind, thoughtful, less interested in money than in the practice of medicine and has the gift of listening to what I tell him. Sadly, he will almost certainly retire from practice before I die. I'm hoping he will find me someone else who is almost as good as he is. Look around, ask around. There's a doctor out there. Chance are, he has a waiting list for patients but get on it. It's worth waiting.

Tropical, another thing I like about my doctor is that he always asks how my life is- and that's a good thing b/c our physical health, emotional, spiritual, etc health area all linked.

It is VERY impressive to hear or read your comments! I am soo happy to see that most of you are "tuned in" to how your body should work and meds are NOT the cure!

Do you know anyone that THIS has happened to? At least 3 of my aquaintances have experienced THIS: Their docs prescribed this med and that med and pretty soon their kitchen counter looks like a pharmacy. Gradually, the person is actually getting WORSE. They happen to find another doc and he or she asks what meds they take. They respond, and with some study, the new doc takes them off MOST of the meds and alters their diet. Within a week or two, they feel alot better, has a new "spring" in their step, etc.

Nancy, you are so right- when i worked in the hospital I used to do admissions as part of my job. I always had to find out what medications they were on. Some patients were on so many meds I almost fell over. It was ridiculous, and many were younger than me.

I had surgery in January to remove my gall bladder, since then I have not felt good. I had such a bad time with the surgeon that I refused to go back to him. After 10 months, I think I need to do something, but I really don't know where to start.
While my doctor is good, her associates are rude. I will not ever see either of them again. She is hard to get into. Guess I need to bite the bullit.

Been there and done that. I go to a doc that hears what I say. He never treats me like I am unworthy to be his patient. He does looks all through my chart and addresses each thing then we go through my list. I am blessed because I have been to those that do not give a darn.
