I'm suspicious by nature, I'm going to check and make sure these phone numbers are for whom the article says they're for.

I never sign my credit cards. My signature is too easy to copy. I had a clerk demand that I sign my card one time and I refused. She called a manager who told her I was right and to just verify ID.

Actually, a merchant is not supposed to accept a card that is not signed. If presented with an unsigned card, the merchant is to ask the customer to sign the card before proceeding with the transaction.

Not signing the card, IMHO, is not going to do much for you if the card is stolen or misplaced. Rarely does a clerk ever even look at the card and check the signature. The only place that consistently does, for me, is Office Max.
Should your find unauthorized transactions on any of your credit cards you are protected anyway since you can dispute the charges and the credit card companies usually side with the customer anyway.
