Thanks for the compliment! The fabric is satin with an organza overlay and yes, it is harder to sew because it's so slippery. I am a former bridal seamstress so I have learned a few tricks along the way to make things easier. My DGD loves the dress and the doll dress too. It was a fun but time comsuming project. She had never had a dress made for her before. She got to help chose the pattern and the fabric and had several fittings to make sure everything was just right. I really enjoyed making this for her.

Thanks to all of you for the compliments. I love to quilt and it is my real passion but sometime, I have to make something else too...gotta keep the creative juices flowing. This is such a wonderful place to share our creativity with everyone. Thanks for looking at my pictures.

How wonderful !! Very beautiful!!
I was working on American Doll Dress patterns today. I made a few cute dresses, the DGD's have no idea about the dolls or the dresses so come this Xmas it will be a surprise to them for sure ! I am going to make their dolls each a quilt as well the same quilt for them. One wants a rag quilt, an insect bottle quilt, and the middle doesn't care as long as its either Tinker Bell or Monster High. Maybe nightgowns to match .. hmmmmmm, so many possibilities !
