Thank you for all the comments, Lily is a little doll and she smiles already, she is really sweet. I was so pleased with the dress and jacket, if I hadn't been I might not have posted. Thanks to Cris and Joyce for coming thru with patterns, they sent just what I needed. I did sew a lot of my daughter's clothes and our oldest son, the youngest son only had a few pieces sewn by me.
dkbeck and my son were ringbearers in a wedding and we made them little white shorts with suspenders and white jackets. Never gave it a thought to use our wedding gowns- that would have been special. I am excited to make little girl clothes again. Who knows maybe our next grandchild will be a girl also.

Here is a picture of the dress I made from my niece's dress (after I tried unsuccessfully to get her to keep it for her daughter to maybe use). She wanted the skirt of the dress done like the skirt of the gown, thus the gathering and pearls.

What a beautiful heirloom. Be sure to document the story. Will the outfit be framed in a shadow box and used for later children?
