    Fly fishing? Dangerous? LMAO
When you're back in the states, you should take it up, it's so therapeutic and relaxing. I love it.

I think the name "bar fly" was cute. Maybe he was upset cause you made an amazing likeness to a female relative or something...he-he..sorry couldn't help it.

My Dad used to fly fish. I thing its rather graceful how one flicks the string around.

Here's the "Bar Fly." Being a seamstress by trade, the "fly" to me is a zipper. Hence...................

(It's tied on a great big shark hook, and that's a real fly from a pair of jeans to give you some perspective of size)

Bar Fly---open fly---from my wild and wolly days I've seen proof of just how appropriate the symbolism is, even right down to the "shark" hook. It's completely hilarious! It's too bad that the one guy is such a stick in the mud. Maybe you should make one called that with his likeness on it.

Your flies are great! Some people are too serious for their own good. They should have some fun categories for people to have a laugh once in awhile. Where is the harm?? Maybe they need a category for "seriously silly" flies...or "LOL" flies. You keep after him to look on the light side of life once in awhile. Laughter is good for the soul.

Wow! I love all the flies. Congrats on your award and to your son also. I love the idea of a "fun fly" category. After seeing your fun flies maybe the "old coot" will be over ruled next year. I'll have to show this thread to my DH. He's been a fly fisherman for many years and ties his own. He taught me how to fly fish when we started dating although I haven't gotten in to fly tying (yet). Usually when he's in his "fishing room" tying, I'm in my sewing room quilting. Works out well!

I think your skill is so neat! Congrats on your 16 year old's win. Looks like nice jewelry could be made from these.
