I'm too mean when it comes to narrow minded people. I would have told the man Fine be that way but I can't wait to relish every minute of you being out of the way so we can do it the way you don't like.

I'm with you all the way ladies, and yes, he's too serious for his own good. His skills as a fly tier are lacking, and I believe he's about as narrow minded as they come.

Congrats to you and your son MissTreated! Your flies are great!

I have quite a few boxes full of flies that I had tied years ago, never entered any contests with them. But I have caught a few salmon with them while trolling with the flies on spoons.

Too bad the one man committee is so small minded. Maybe he is green with envy over your skills of fly tying. :hunf:

    Beautiful work!

Oh my Gosh!!! I am literally laughing my self silly. That angel one is just too wonderful. You get three thumbs up from me. I was laughing so hard I missed the Bar fly. OMgosh. you are just so creative. Have to show these to our friend who ties his own flies.

BOO to the one man committee.

My DD used to tie flies and make his own bamboo rods. I currently am the proud owner of those rods and flies.

Love fishing and have done some fly-fishing. Would love to get back into it.

You go girl! DH's or is that your DS, is beautiful, too.

There's a lot of names that would lend themselves to some superb and laughable flies---House Fly, Fly By Night, Dragon Fly, Jet Lag, Wing Nut, Blow Fly, Horse Fly, etc. Now I'm jealous because I think I might like to try my hand at this but being horribly allergic to feathers I'd better not. LOL

I'm lovin' the suggestions if all the fly names! DH just made a "Fly Box" that is literally a turned wooden box, with wire legs and wings, looking just like a house fly, but the abdomen comes off so one could put something inside, like small jewelry. Very cute.

Driving around thinking about Mr. PITA, the committee dude, I thought about a fly called a muddler. Really! So how 'bout the fly called the "Stick in the Muddler" and it could be his fly! Too funny.

How lucky you are to have those rods! I have never fished a bamboo rod, but I know how dear they are, and I know one made by a special person would be priceless.

I like "Stick in the Muddler". I personally know absolutely NOTHING about fishing of any kind. My idea of fishing it to put a bare hook in the water and open a good book.

When you're back in the states, you should take it up, it's so therapeutic and relaxing. I love it.
I'll just have to go to your house so you can teach me! :)
