Why does it get out of control so fast? I have mine in small bins by color. I did the Alabama star on the BOM thread and boom, the room exploded. I just figure it's part of the creative process. I have to touch everything. I just sit in the middle of the floor and start folding. Slowly it gets done. But it never stays that way. Thank goodness, I can shut the door.

leatheflea, I would get a small tension rod and put it across that doorway with a long quilt/curtain that could be pulled across when you get company and then no one can see in. Plus it would show off your quilt. Then you can also pull it back to be open when no one is there. If I could do that to mine I would.

I truly believe you can't be neat AND creative at the same time....or at least I can't be.

I spent the weekend cutting fabric scraps, finished last night, so it is all put away and neat. I will start sewing pieces together tonight. It never gets too bad as I am always putting things away.
The holidays has nothing to do with whether my room or house is clean.

I have to do the same, but before I can start on the sewing room, I have to start in the store room, so I can move stuff from the sewing room to the store room. LOL

Had to smile. I play the "1-2-3 game" with myself all the time. Just 3 things to put away. Works most of the time, but like you, sometimes it's hours or days later. BTW, I went to nursing school in Rapid, at the no longer St. John's McNamara. Retired now, so it was a long time ago.

Oh, I get so out of control - I just push stuff out of the way and go on to the next project during the Christmas season, and it gets just awful. I'm trying to do the cleanup now and not making much progress.

I find I am much more creative in a neat environment. As soon as we return home from our holiday travels, I need to organize and de-clutter the studio; then get back to some UFOs.

I like these units, where did you get them. I have Sterlite units but the top wants to collapse. This looks like a stronger top. Mine are several years old now.
