Linda told stories about how they'd be out hiking and if Kari became too warm, she'd just whip off her top and jeans and hike in her panties. When Linda told her she couldn't do that in a public and could be arrested, Kari just couldn't understand why not. Evidently Norwegians have an entirely different attitude than Midwesterners when it comes to wearing clothes. lol

I worked with an intern from Amsterdam. She was 18 and could not understand why she could not order a drink for lunch. She had been drinking since 16. The "Pub" was in the basement of her church. All the teenagers would hang out there after school and if anyone over indulged the Priest would deliver them home!!!! I thought she was exaggerating but my supervisor confirmed it.

Midwife.
Homebirth.
Missionaries.
Lucky, blessed baby-to-be!! Smart parents!
Do you all know it is literally, honestly, proven, that it is safer to give birth at home with a midwife than in a hospital, for the majority of pregnant women? Yep, it is. After all, birth is a normal function of a healthy female body. There are 42 countries on this planet that have better maternal and infant birth outcomes than the USA does. FORTY-TWO! How is that possible?? (I'm not sure I can even name 42 'modern' countries quickly!)
Blessings and congratulations to all of those involved in Kari's birth in December.
