    Ok lets see if this one sounds right to you. This is from a CB from Virigina past and present some of the recipes are from the Lee and Washington recipes

    2 C sugar , 6 egg whites ,1 C butter, 1C sweet cream,
    3 C flour 2 teaspoon Bp 1 teaspoon vanilla

    My favorite White Cake
    2 C sugar , 6 egg whites ,1 C butter, 1C sweet cream,

    Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour before measuring flour.
    The add baking powder to measured flour and sift three times.
    Add the flour to the butter and sugar mixture. Alternately with the cream. beat until smooth. add vanilla. Flod in egg whites
    gently (do not beat egg whites to dry) then pour into 3 - 8 inch pans. Bake at 325 until center is firn to touch.
