Morning ladies. Good choice Pam, mixing them up is what I would have suggested also. that way the movement of color would not make the lighter look out of place. Lots of colors is what I enjoy looking at in a quilt.
So you recall my slight rant on not placing in the fair, well, it is great to know that people do enjoy color. My jacket took second and my applique quilt took third. Both took Best of Category in Machine Quilting and I also won four Honorable Mentions. So proud to say the least.

Today's my birthday and tonight is my sewing group. My DD called to wish me happy birthday and to say she has a dr's appt tomorrow. She might be expecting again! Oh my! Friday I went on a local 3 shop hop. What fun and each shop had different fabric lines. So I have some new patterns and fabric to play with. Can't wait to start some projects.

Happy Birthday Countrymaid. This must be the year for grandbabies for our birthdays. My DS called me on Skype for my birthday. He held an ultrasound up to the screen. My DIL is due in May also.
QuilterMomma i love all of your quilts. They are beautiful. I love applique I just hate to do it. My baby quilt is coming along nicely.
I was babysitting my GS yesterday. He is 3 and just potty trained. I had put him upstairs for a nap. About 5 minutes later I hear him saying "oh no the poop belongs in the potty!" As I went up the stairs I could smell it. I was worried about what I would find. It was on the bathroom floor with his pants in the hall. My son and I were laughing so hard my GS just kept saying Oh no, oh no! the poop belongs in the potty. Kinda gross but so funny. Kids come up with the funniest things.

Happy Birthday, countrymaid. I hope you have a blessed year.

What a lovely collection of ribbons, QM. It's always nice when your wonderful work is recognized.

I am very tired tonight and my house looks like a small bomb went off in the rooms I hang out in. I either need to get busy or go sit in the LR where nothing is out of place or - one more option - go to bed early. #3 is least likely.

Happy Birthday CountryMaid. I hope both babies are born in May. That is when I was born.

QuilterMomma, you did great. Everything you made is so pretty, including you.

    Country Maid - Happy Birthday!

Gayle - my husband's birthday is Sept 20th and DS is Sept 22.

irishrose - I think I would have chosen option #3, go to bed early. LOL

Well, I was proud of myself for packing a healthier lunch for all of us on Monday. I picked the absolutely very last green pepper out of the garden and added a little bit of humus into the lunch boxes. To tell you the truth, the green pepper wasn't even that good, but I couldn't let it go.

DH and I went to the gym Monday night and I've really been focusing and trying to work hard there. I am a bit sore, if I hadn't had to work late yesterday I would've taken the time to take a warm epsom salts bath. I have yoga tonight. I'm also making more of a concerted effort to stop snacking, or if I do snack make it a reasonable size and only if I'm really hungry and need it. I realize I do a lot of mindless stuffing things in my mouth!! I bought a bag of greens (fast and easy) and am going to make a simple salad dressing tonight to go with dinner. Olive oil, fresh squeezed lemon, salt, freshly ground pepper.

Here's to good choices today, everyone!

DD called and not expecting. Dr said if she doesn't get her monthly she's to go back for some blood work. She was ok with that, not quite ready for #3. So we'll wait and see. Mean time love those two girls and want to do some flannel pull on pants for them. They love to wear dresses but need a little something more now that the weather is getting colder.
