My laptop is too warm to keep on my lap and so I am wondering if anyone has made a protective lap pad or purchased one...looking for ideas either way. Thanks

I found one at Barnes and Noble. Hard plastic surface with a padded cushion on the bottom. I like it a lot. DH has one that is hard, but has a padded covering that he likes. I think I found his at Office Max.

Our lap top came with risers. However you might try some of that batting with the foil in it and some Warm and Natural. Either that or just buy one of those small ironing pads.

Seems to me that anything you make to protect your lap from the heat is going to further overheat, and potentially damage, the laptop. The point is to increase the airflow, not decrease it. They make all kinds of laptop coolers and I'd go with one of those, just to be safe. Why risk damage to the laptop just to have a funky handmade mat? http://bestlaptopcooler.org/

Yes, make sure it has plenty of air flow. You should be able to find something where ever you buy laptops.

I use a butcher's block cutting board I had retired to my sewing room. It is perfect, let's the pc breathe and keeps my legs from burning.
Did you know males should use a laptop on their lap? Google it.

DH has an expensive one with cooling fan but prefers the $10 one I bought at Walmart. He said it was the best he has used. It's big wedge shaped and comfortable and lightweight. I bought a few more for future use. I haven't seen any more there like this. The manager told me it was a special buy so no idea if more would be available.
