We don't shop very much in La Pine. I do love going into the Quilt shop there, the lady who runs the place is so nice.

I had to turn my back on a dear friend about 8 years ago when living in Reno. She was addicted to pain pills and Methadone. She died 5 years ago.

Hi, I have lurked on this forum for months and love it.I just had to join this topic,I have a daughter who has been a drunk and crack addict for 33 years.I have raised my grand son for most of his life, he has been with us permently for 6 years. He is the love of my life. His mom just called an hour ago, drunk wanting to see her (baby) for christmas.I told her NO.There comes a time when you just can not take any more.My grandson is now 13 and I am over any sympathy for his parents.I know there is hope for ever one and I pray for you and your son.Hope you have a wonderful holiday. jean

Jean, thank you for raising your grandson. From one person and productive member of society to another, you saved him from a terrible fate. He has the chance to grow and prosper and be whatever he is capable of being, thanks to you (and anyone else in your family who helps). You are a strong and wise woman. Never, ever let her near your grandson although I'm sure you don't need to be reminded of that. God bless you all and may you make some wonderful family memories this Christmas. Merry Christmas. And Happy Quilting in the new year!!
