I will say again, try the Skechers Bikers Point Blank style. They are comfortable, lightweight, flexible, and have a good arch support. About all I can wear are athletic shoes because of my walking problems and I hated having big boxy lace up shoes on when I wore nice slacks, and this style isd a slip on, and very neat looking, with everything. I now have a pair in each color! $49 free shipping.

I know I run the risk of dating myself but some of you may remember that the original Earth shoes were very popular in the early 70's. They looked like orthopedic shoes. Every wannabe hippie had a pair back then and we wore them with our love beads, tattered jeans and tie-dyed T-shirts. They were ugly then, still are, but were very, very comfortable.

I wore Earth Shoes in the late 60's & early 70's..its what all the hippies wore!!!  They are really really comfy and make for great calves. I can't find them locally anymore and since I'm a hard to fit girl, trying on is a necessity! Lucky you! Enjoy

Ditto - I LOVE my Crocs - There is a Crocs store in Branson that I go once a year. I HEARD that Crocs are going out of business - tell me it isn't true! Having foot surgery and achilles bone spurs dictate that I wear "smart shoes" how boring is that??

I got rocker dog shoes at Rack Room. They take the pressure off knees and are great for the feet.

Looks good to me. I volunteer at busy mobile blood drives, so
am on my feet HOURS at a time, and my previously broken
ankle hurts like mad, especially when the weather is bad.

These look comfy, I'll check them out. Also, think of what a
lot of medical folks are using now, I think they are called
"rockers" which are slightly curved sneakers. Must be comfortable
for these folks to use them, those I've spoken to swear by them.
Going shopping soon and check these out also.

hmmmm I wear tennis shoes with Dr. Scholls gell inserts and good arch supports.....cost me $29.00. I USED to wear Berkinstocks....but since bunion surgery, I can't wear them!!! Something in them makes the area where the bunion was hurt like the devil.
    ----------------------
With very rare exceptions, I wear heavy wool socks year round. I need
ankle support to, because of the previously broken ankle, and years ago
remembered from riding days the comfort of lace up cowboy ropers. These
are the most comfortable foot wear I've found, despite trying everything I
hear of. They don't look too shabby with jeans or slacks. Sure wish I could
find white or blue ones!! But I'll check out the Earth Shoes soon. Anything
to keep my ankle from hurting.

Hahaha oh I love shoes. -
    ----------------------------------
I still have a pair of what I laughingly call "dress" shoes for
slacks..a pair I inherited from my DML when she died in 1975.
They are Red Cross shoes, lace up, and are still nice looking.
No telling how long she had had them, years probably.

Yes, I do buy new shoes now and then, but can't seem to find
many that can be worn over an hour or so, no matter how nice
    they look!!
