She is a gorgeous cat! I'm sure she will be quite alright. After the shock of losing her sight, she'll be manuvering the house like a pro! We had a blind cat when I was younger, and she was a pro at getting around! Just keep positive! *hugs* I pray that everything will perfectly okay with Opal!

I so can relate to your pain.
    Detached retinas can just "happen"
Many of us can barely take care of our own medical needs - and if our pets are fed and loved, that's as good as it can get sometimes

For some conditions there is no treatment that really helps - we can love our pets (or people) in the condition they are in for as long as they last

    She is a beautiful cat.

I'm so sorry about your dear Opal, but please don't be so hard on yourself. If our babies give no signs of something wrong, how can we know that something is wrong? I hope that she gets a favorable diagnosis and they do learn to adapt, just as we do.

She is lovely. If she can get better, blind is not as bad as it sounds. We had a precious little Silky Terrier who lost her sight .. it happens even with the best of care...we spent many $$$$ trying to save her sight and we cried a million tears because she couldn't see. She learned to adjust and so did we. She lived to be 16 years old. My heart goes out to you and I am wishing her well. Do not punish yourself..things happen and we cannot change them. Just hold her and love her.

I used to have cats and they are truly unique animals. So much personality. I'm so sorry for your baby and please don't heap guilt on yourself. I'm sure she's had an amazing life with you. So many animals don't get that. I hope she will be ok.

Beautiful baby! I know how scared you are and hope they will not find any of the more serious diseases. You are in a group that knows just how important our babies are. Those who don't understand are missing out on a lot of love
