    I totally agree with Mimm. People who don't have animals just don't understand how they become your "children" and you would do just about anything for them.

    I hope there is something they can do for Opal, she is so beautiful. {{{hugs}}}

    Default My Poor Fur Baby - Update

    Opal has kidney disease which caused the high blood pressure and caused her retinas to detach. She will be on blood pressure medication for the rest of the her life. We noticed a difference with her as soon as we got home last night. She was moving around the house with no problem. The doctor said that her vision had improved a little and may improve more. She said what saved her was that we reacted quickly and got her to the ER and they were able to get her on the blood pressure and anti-inflamatory meds which caused the retinas to reattach. She seems to be even better today. Yesterday was such an emotional day and I hope not to have one like that for a long time. Thank you for your kind words and advice. It is amazing how upset we can get over our fur babies in a time of crisis. She really is like my child, especially since I never had children.

    Thanks again.

    I had a heart attack late last year and NEVER had chest pains ! I had stomach flu like symptoms.....went to dr on a Monday, she said, stomach flu, gave me something for nausea and told me to get Immodium (sp?) for diahera (sp?); called her on Wed and said I still had problems, she said to try BRAT diet and keep taking meds......on Thursday I had a violent episode of dry heaves (sorry for being graphic, but this is important); on Sat my daughter took me to local hospital ER.....they tested and determined a heart attack and slight stroke; sent me to large ATL hospital on Monday for heart cath....yep, heart attack and a blood clot lodged in my heart...... ALL TO SAY, WOMEN ESPECIALLY, PLEASE PAY ATTN TO YOUR SYMPTOMS AND PAINS ARE NOT ALWAYS PRESENT !

    I had chest pains and it was later diagnosed as hyperthyroidism...after lots of re - visits and sending me home all the time. So if it continues to remain a mystery, perhaps they could give you a blood test? Hope it is something easily cureable. All the best.

    My mom had something similar happen to her when she had her heart attack a couple of years ago. Thankfully she went to the hospital when she did... Her's was caused by Avandia.
