Someone gave me a bunch of those 5 hr energy drinks a few months back. I threw them out because I did not want my teenager drinking them. I'll stick to my coffee, thank you.

The ones that have a huge amount of B vitamins + caffiene make me nauseas. i don't really like the taste of them and they make me feel like I've taken psuedofed with a double strong cup of coffee. Then I crash and feel worse then I started.

I have tried them, Don't think it was as good a jolt as my coffee, but my daughter loves them. she doesn't drink coffee, so they are her morning boost.

I also tried those 5 hour energy drinks - I too was sleepy afterwards - so I tried it about 4 different times - I never noticed any change and did not give me any energy at all. I would think some of those energy drinks with lots of caffeine and sugar would give you that spike of energy but the 5 hour energy don't seem to have any of that in it.

Yes, I read this story in the news too about the girl dying from 2 energy drinks in 24 hours.

Myson uses the dollar store ones. He takes a drink when he needs a boost. I won't use them. Dangerous I think!!

Beats me why anyone would waste their money on sugary water and caffeine in a plastic bottle. Just nuts. Coffee is bad enough, but at least I drink that slowly, and without sugar.

My gut instinct tells me they're unhealthy. I had the same feeling about microwave popcorn long before it was discovered that some brands contained large amounts of carcinogens. I agree that we are a society of "quick fixes". The simplest answer is to do the right things: eat well, exercise often and sleep soundly!!

Full of sugar and not good for diabetics.I think they are very unhealthy unless you are going to run them off with heavy exercise. If you are feeling tired it is best to have a medical check - up to see what you really need.

I think it is very sad how much junk they are putting on the market for people to put into their bodies it is not just the drinks that are bad which they are but also all of the additives that are going into our food also the danger of plastic bottles and they still keep using them
