someone on FOX news just mentioned that IF the spring weather continues in its usual manner (Tornadoes in May) and IF they put a hole in the dike to relieve the water problem with the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, over 20% of prime farmland will be lost to growing in the early part of the season. And what about all those chickens that were killed? Being fragile "seniors" we decided to join a local co op...they do the work , we buy local and support a local farmer and it is all certified organic... Seemed like the best way for us (both in late 70's) to go. We will share with daughter and her family.

When I was doing my grocery shopping last week the stocker commented that I was doing the right thing stocking up. I asked why he would say that (I was being sarcastic, my buggy was overflowing). He looked around to see if there was anyone in hearing distance... Then said. " YOU'd Better, It's getting hard for us to get enough food to stock the shelves."
I then really noticed that there were not as many veggies and a lot more condiments on the shelves and the selections were spaced wider & not filled to the back of the shelf. Guess I need to plant more garden.
