as a hair stylist, first you have to dye the hair then put youre high lights in but the bleach youre buying at the store isnt strong enough plus you have to buy higher volume perixide and are you using a cap to pull it through to speed up process you put plastic bag on top good luck

I like to use the kind that washes out in about 28 shampoos..Usually it last longer though and for me I go for the lightest blonde..My hair is auburn color but with the light blonde dye it just brings out the blonde and red in my hair..Looks like I have been in the sun for awhile..

I used Loreal for years until I retired and decided to go gray....and it's not! Looks highlighted and I love it!

I agree...always go lighter and be sure to follow insructions on how long to leave the color on your hair.

I think it looks great. It looks nice and shiney. I highlight mine with the help of my husband. He pulls it through the cap for me and puts the mixture on. I just have to watch it and shampoo it out. I have found that Cairol makes a highliting kit for short hair that is cheaper. I don't feel like I'm wasting a bunch of product because it's a smaller amount than the big hightlight kit.

I use the L'Oreal double process - color first then highlight. The highlighter doesn't bleed into your other hair, and you can put in as many and as thick a streak as you like. The highlights and color seem to get lighter after a couple of weeks. The least expensive I've seen it is at Wal Mart.

yes don't freak, I did the first time and it was awful, just let it do its thing. I use the self highlighting myself. Ash usually has a green cast to it. Good Luck.

DO NOT use coloring with ash ..NO matter what color you use. It will turn your hair red. Experienced many times with many colors. Beautitian told me this. been doing my own hair for over ten years..cutting it also.
