Sweet! I would LOVE to take out the clouded picture window and put in these doors, but new roof first.

Very nice. Good for you. We want to put in a new patio door, probably next summer. Then we need a new deck. We know how we want it just can't find anyone to do it. We have lived here 6 1/2 years and the deck was bad when we moved in. Oh well maybe next summer. I am happy for you. I can see you sitting out there enjoying the nice weather, a drink of some kind and looking at quilting magazines.

I'm very fortunate to have a talented husband AND step-father!!!! Yes, sitting on the deck, a drink, and a quilt magazine or appliqueing IS in my plans!

We did look into the code. It's actually 8" under code heighth.....meaning we don't need a railing. The picture is deciving.....if I really stretch this old body, I can step directly onto it! :)
Check with your insurance company also. Ours required railings if we had more than two steps--no matter the height. You will love the door, we had to replace a picture window when we moved in so we ended up with a 9 foot 3 panel patio door instead of the usual 2. It lights up the room and since it faces east, the dogs and cat snuggle in the sunshine in the morning!

I really like your new deck and patio doors. Don't you think the built-in blinds are pure genius
I think you will really enjoy spending time on your deck and grilling a burger or two. Your deck appears to be large enough for a table and chairs, so you can eat outside too. :D
