I am so far from being original like most of you are - I was baptized Edith - don't like that name. I was named after my favorite of all favorite aunts. She got me interested in the piano and then I followed by taking organ lessons. She taught me how to embroider. Her nickname was Ede. There is only one person in this world that can call me Ede and that is my husband. My aunt and uncle used to live where we live now. It has been owned by only two families - My aunt Ede and Uncle Bob since 1923 and when they moved into other housing (that being Heaven) we bought this house. So for the past 40 years we have lived here and the only two matriarchs in this home have been Edes! When we first moved in the next door neighbor referred to my aunt as Big Ede and I was Little Ede. That happened once - only once! I have been known by my nickname all of my life - 74 - and I love that name - Edie. So thanks to Ede, I am Edie. If it had not been for my Uncle Bob saying that I should be named after my aunt, I would have been Alice. I am not an Alice.
These are fun to read. Edie

Mine is simple; when I came to work at the hospital 11 yrs ago this was given to me as my username for all systems that Ineeded to log onto. It's the one thing that doesn't change. I started using it to logon to other things because I knew I'd never forget it. I like to KISS as possible. Especially since I work in the IT dept and deal with enough people who have a hard time with computers. Simple is always better. Our naming convention is either our last name and first and middle initial or if you last name is longer then it's the first 6 of you lastname and initials.
I never thought about making a cute name when I was creating my account on here. I know that on Craftsy I'm GiGi. Lots of them on here and lots of Judys

this is a wonderful post. Love hearing how the id came about. they make sense now looking at them. I am enjoying the stories so much.
cr12cats came about when a friend was setting us up with our first computer and we needed a name for the account he set up. he commented why not try cr12cats cause how any people have that many cats. At first it was crtwelvecats but we shortened it since then. he was right it was not taken. and yes we had 12 cats at that time. there were 25 feral cats where we lived that we made sure got trapped and fixed and fed but some had kittens before we got to them. We had a boy cat yodeler ( named yodler cause it would sound like he was yodeling LOL)we took in and got well so after that he bought us the sick kittens. by the time they were well we loved them. we lived in the desert and were county so we could have animals. up there we lived in a house that had a mother inlaw suite added so they had that and their own spa room they loved to lay on the jaccuzzi and we fenced in the one patio so they had their own patio with their climbing stuff and litter boxes so they didn't need to be in side thank gooddness.. we only have 1 left now she is 16 years old and this will be our last.even though the neighbor cats still hang around for free eats and we feed the possum and her baby and the squirels. also we have the only yard here without dogs so they are safe. our only boy passed over rainbow bridge last june. so the one we have now is alone except mom and dad for the first time in her life. she still crys if she thinks she is alone and hunts for him. makes my heart hurt for her so we don't leave her long by herself. Blondie is my avatar, I don't have the heart to change it yet even though i probally should.

I was born and raised in North Dakota. Even though I have lived in Ohio and now Maryland, my heart will always remain
in North Dakota with the blue skies, fields of waving grain and yes, even the winter weather.
