I got a letter today stating the amount my investment company sent to pay off my car loan. yikes!! it was short almost $700.00!! I found taht someone who did my paperwork entered the incorrect amount and they cut a check minus taxes but ended up with $700.00 left over so they put that into my "cash" account.
sigh. I called my car loan people and they said just to mail another ck for the difference. i could not get a guarantee that whom ever handled that check or the one from my investment company would do it correctly. now the mystery continues.....
hopefully they will apply both cks and close my account and send my car title. i do so hope so.....
this did not make my day.

It's a temporary mess-up. It's annoying, but it will work out.

Oh I hate it when that happens. My bank/mortgage company wouldn't take my payoff check - the local branch just processed mortgages they didn't receive payments! Who would have thought. They did take it for me - each day is a different payoff because of the interest. :( I hope your situation works out as well as mine did.

I had asked if i could go to their bank and give them a check but they said it must be mailed in. grrr. oh well, my ck says "for the rest of pay off on..." so hopefully someone will figure it out correctly.
The news here is showing a fire south of Denver. bad one too. with the winds blowing the fire across the land very quickly. right now they are showing the fire moving toward a home fenced in with a horse running backand forth. a fireman is trying to keep the house from catching fire and the helicopter just dropped water.
makes my troubles seem so much smaller....
