My DH retired last April after 42 years-he is happier than a pig in a mud puddle-he tells everyone that asks I'm retired ya know. I however am still working. I'm an RN and have worked as one for 40 years-2 more and Lord willing and the creek don"t rise- I will retire. It's a little scary for me as I came from very poor backround and still to this day worry about financial things. I know in my heart we are fine but every once in a while the old "fear" raises it's evil head. My DH justs smiles and hugs me"It"ll be fine"

I live in my jammies since I retired. I drive my 15yo DS and 7yo DGD to school in them. I also pick them up while still in jammie mode. My DD spends the day with me and we are both in our jammies. She and I are the only ones who don't get dressed unless we are going out. I love being retired.

I work from home, so I jump out of bed in my jammie pants and t-shirt, grab my coffe, take care of my animals (one dog, three cats)and go to work. I take my shower around noon (unless I have a client coming) to take a break and recharge, then I go back to work. I am desperate to finish what' on my desk so I can get back to sewing agian. I am in my feast period right now...my famine period comes in the summer time...sew, sew, sew!!!!!!

Your life with your husband sounds just lovely. Although I'm not retired, when I first started working at home about 10 years ago, I often didn't bother to change out of my pajamas until the afternoon. My husband comes home for lunch at 11:00 am and would give me "the look" - so that was my goal - to get dressed before he got here.
I don't get to sleep in - as much as I'd like to - thanks to one of our dogs - a rescued chihuahua-terrier mix who is up with the sun and sometimes way before the sun. DH gets up at 5:00 am every day, but she won't leave the room without me.
Last year I worked for the Census, and was amazed at how many older women were in the pajamas in the afternoon. I don't know why I was amazed since if someone knocked on MY door that's how they might have found me.
After years of working as a public information professional and having to be dressed for press conferences, it is really a treat not to have to bother. Love it!
