I am thinking about opening a paypal account. Are the fees very high? I bought a 1948 singer feather weight and went thru a friend since I didn't have my own account. Also does anyone know how to find the month that my machine was made? I would love to find out since I was born that year.

Would you share the name of that site with us? Please?

If the seller decides to rip you off, you have ZERO recourse.
The Paypal fees are minimal and worth the security. Everything sent should have a tracking number. That protects the seller. If you pay via "gift" and don't get your merchandise, there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
Not only is an invoice far more professional, but if done correctly (not gift), both parties are protected.
