    Default Perhaps a lost quilt.......

I sent my grandson, a Marine, a quilt along with brownies, M & Ms, etc in a box to Marine Camp LeJeune, N.C.. Yes, I insured and tracked and tracking said it arrived but he has never received it and it's been there almost 2 weeks. I've never sent him a box before so I'm not understanding what could have happened. Anyone out there know how the military handles packages that could possibly give me a little reassurance that he's going to get this quilt?

The military does not handle the mail. Only the US postal service does that, even on a base.

Very sorry that your grandson has not received his package. The same thing happened with a package I sent to my Marine grandson at Camp LeJeune. But what I found out is that he failed to go to the post office to check for it when I told him it was on the way. Sometimes our Marines are very busy and don't think to go to the post office when they have a down time - they use that down time to sleep (Grin)

Hmmm... Maybe they have a problem there at LeJeune. At least Seb has checked on it but there was something about his company didn't pick up the mail or.....? He said he has a "gentleman in charge of my unit" (he knows I don't understand rankings) is helping him today to find it. He'll keep me posted.

My neighbor's recently enlisted son was sent a package from his grandmother. He said he never received it. Weeks later it was discovered he was waiting for someone to hand deliver it to him like he was use to at home.

I can see that happening. I told Seb he had to go get it. I don't think he listened to me. lol

He found his package all alone in the mail room. I am so relieved! He likes the quilt and it's already on his bed and looking good. Thanks for all the hints for him to locate it. I passed them on as I got them and it worked.
