I self-insure but you must be disciplined. I save $50 a month for pet health care costs. I now have a very tidy little nest egg should the worst happen and if it doesn't happen that money is mine not some pet insurance company's.

I so agree with you on this! Vets today are such rip offs! They way overcharge for everything!!! But they can do it because they know that we NEED them if we have pets. Just a simple checkup is 100 bucks! its crazy!
