How beautiful Karla! I'm sure I could spend many a happy hour chatting to your Dad - I love plants and have a 'thing' for knowing the names!

Can you ask him if that dark columbine (in England the common name is also 'Granny's Bonnet') is Aquilegia vulgaris 'William Guinness'? If so, I grow it as well! I think the funky one is 'Norah Barlow'? I've got that one too! As for the irises WOW obviously his passion! The colours are stunning, but I must say I always go back to the rich blues of the sibericas. Smaller flowers and more delicate looking.

Your photography is wonderful - do you enter competitions? You should!

Thanks for sharing! Absolutely fantastic. I've never seen that many colors of Iris or peonies or that color columbine. What a great place to grow up :D Were there that many fields of flowers when you were a kid riding horses?

Karla! Beautiful, beautiful beautiful! I am truly a Lily lover, but Irises are a close second. Those are some of the nicest flower shots I've seen!

I have one iris that is thriving while the others are trying hard to find their stride! The one that is thriving is the strangest colour I have ever seen...BROWN! I'll post a pic here when they make an appearance this year... mid-July is usual but we've had an early spring so maybe late June I'll see blooms.

Your father has a gift! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much for sharing these!!!!! They are absolutely breathtaking! The only thing wrong with an iris is the short blooming time in the spring, but oh how pretty they are for that two weeks or so! I have two small patches and they are already long gone here in Oklahoma.

How many years of work has it taken to get to this point? I've just started trying to bring some flowers and beauty to our 10 acres, but it's going to take a while...

    Again, thank you!
    Sara

WOW!!!!! Your Dad sure has a green thumb. The yellow and pink ones are positively gorgeous.
And whomever took the pictures needs to be doing it professionally. The color and detail are fantastic.
What a great view of God's bounty.
Thanks for sharing---you brightened the day of someone with a very black thumb.

Goodness, those iris are beautiful. They're my favorite flower, I have a couple of beds of them in the yard but NOTHING like that. Wow! :)

I look into it now and then, Loretta. :D I found a promising site yesterday--but there was a signing and monthly fee. I don't want to do that. I contacted two calendar places--no luck. Once summer vacation arrives, I'll look into it more.

What would sell? Calendars? Mugs? Prints?

A person from the horse forum told me about paying to have one book just like that made--but it was expensive, too. BUT--others could order it once it is done.

    It's here...Loretta-what do you think? http://www.blurb.com/

It's good for me to hear what people would buy in regards to photos they love.
