Looks like Keller Texas( North of Fort Worth) for the past few days....We have a ranch in west Texas....they got 5 inches of snow yesterday. Today, we are having what our electric delivery company (ONCOR) calls rolling black outs. They say our electricity will be out off and on for 15 minute intervals...ours was out for a hour and other folks in the Dallas Fort Worth area have been without for over 3 hours....you can bet that the Dallas Cowboy stadium (Superbowl) will not be without electric service....ONCOR is suppose to have reserves for bad weather......NOT. Two days of freezing weather and we have outages...can you imagine if we had two weeks or a month of freezing temps like alot of you folks....poor planning.
Enough of my rant....I can't use my Janome without eletricity.
Stay Warm everyone!

Weather men are calling this storm the third worse in their record keeping years; I understand they called out the National Guard in KC. Just five foot drift in front of our South door..well, we are not expecting company; may be it will melt down by next week.
Took my dh only an hour to shovel four foot on the west side of the house to take care of our 17 chickens in their shed. Dogs and cats are in the heated garage. Cold outside, but warm inside...enough suplies on hand to go a week or two before needing to think about going anywhere. Quilting time!!!

A son in Columbia, MO called yesterday and it was snowing hard then. They both work at State Farm and said it was the 2nd time in 20 yrs. that they had closed due to weather. They were closed again today. Twenty in. of snow was predicted there. We had 12"+ last night. Had only 1 door that we could use to get out of the building. Just glad that no one had to call the amb. Have no idea how they would have reached the building. All cleared out now. They hired 4 extras to help clear it though. Sun shining now & temp. way below zero tonight. Just so we don't lose power. EVERYTHING here is electric, including heat. That's why they invented quilts. Huh??

I know, I am in a total electric home. I make coffee between outages and put it in a thermous (just in case), I did get a pot of soup done between one this morning tho. I did go and get stocked upmwith things that don't need cooking. If push comes to shove I can always go out and light the grill. Mmm.
