Pillowcase Strips
#11
I just made 6 pillow cases yesterday, and top stitched along the seam where they are ironed - towards the cuff. Now I am thinking maybe I should sew another line directly on the strip before I wash them...hmmmmmmm It might make them lay flat permanently.....

I cut my accent strip 3" I pin it in place (along the body of the pillowcase) unfolded and stitch an 1/8 inside the pressed fold. You can see the white stitches where the arrow points to. Then I continue the rest of the "burrito" procedure.

Me, too. I think it looks less "homemade" with the narrower accent strip. I cut mine about 7/8 inch wide - so less than 1/4 inch shows when the pillowcase is finished.

This is what I do too, also noticed they launder much better, the ones before I did this all curl and twist up, and I'm not about to start ironing pillowcases, not looking for something to do! LOL!
