My wedding band is platinum setting. Was told by jeweler yellow gold softest, wears out fastest, white gold harder, but platinum is hardest...little wear factor. I had my moms wedding/engagement ring reset into a pendant that I now wear on a gold chain. The rings were yellow gold and the both bands had worn thru on the backside and sat in her jewelry box...
