My new camera is a Nikon D5000 digital SLR. I used the close-up setting - which just happens to be a flower! lol
I used to take scads of pictures with my Minolta 35mm, and for about the last year I've been gettin' itchy to use a "fancy" camera again. I carry a little Nikon Coolpix in my purse all the time, but you can only do so much with a point-and-shoot. I still need to read more of the manual ~ I've already watched the hour-long dvd that came with it.
One funny thing it will do - you can do some editing right in the camera, including making a line drawing of a photo! I tried that one with my friend Sara. Unfortunately, we didn't have very good lighting, so it looked like she had a beard in the drawing. Had to erase that one right away!!! LOL
