Sending best wishes for a speedy recovery from this disaster. But for the grace of God, there go I. Our hot water heater caught on fire last week, but we were there and caught it. One of our copper leads had sprung a leak due to the acid nature of our water, and it had been spraying everything. The electrical contacts were shorted out, and the fire began. We had already discovered the leak and were figuring out what to do upstairs when it happened, so we smelled it soon enough to catch it.
Thanks also for the heads up about the cords- I have been extra careful about using strips lately after reading about problems with power surges blowing out computers and electronic machines. So am glad you are spreading the word, once again. We all must keep safety first.
