We live about 2 hours from Duluth MN and went up the "North Shore" of Lake Superior a few weeks ago - spent 4 days just steps from the rocks and the water! It was awesome and thought I would share a few pictures from the trip - including the one with my family jumping in for a swim! It was COLD COLD COLD! But FUN FUN FUN!!

it was great - my kids got a little bored with it, but then again they are only 7 and 8 and mom is a nature/history freak and I had already taken them on a 2mile hike at Gooseberry falls the day before...so they were a little weary of mom's fieldtrips! What they didn't know yet is on the way home, I made the family stop at Gooseberry Falls and do the OTHER side of the Falls - another 2 mile hike to Lake Superior and back! Hee hee!!! Mommy got her way!

I think the pictures are gorgeous!
Is the water cold ALL the time or does it warm up a few degrees in the summer?

    OMG!!
I've driven thru MN, actually stopped at the rest area and it was beautiful there. Was right on a river and Courtney and I just looked around at how pretty it was. Not sure which rest area it was, but going from east to west, it was the one right over the border of whatever state is to the right of MN.
Courtney still remembers the sign....Be Nice, You Are In Minnesota. lol
