My daughter in law got me started to quilt with gifts of a cutting mat and a rotary cutter - she is a working lady who is also a quilter with not much time to sew, consequently, I have you guys to talk with, as she is too busy...maybe some day she will retire to her sewing room !

you know that's funny.. on my facebook page, I requested that someone lock me in my sewing room so that I had something to enjoy yesterday. It was a horrendous day, and today isn't looking much better..do you think the boss would let me bring my sewing machine and projects to work so that I can be happy?

I don't have anyone close to me that quilts. I either talk to my sister who is in NY, or I'm on here. So I love this board. When I talk to people around here about quilting, you're right they look at you like you have two heads. My DH is learning to at least listen, even if he has no clue what I'm talking about. As for taking a break from cleaning. I have to schedule that ahead of time. Like next week I'll have to clean because we are having Thanksgiving dinner here. But I know I'll just do the bare minimum. Because I'll go through withdrawals if I can't do something pertaining to quilting.

I understand.! I don't have quilting friends except for one person from work. Even tho I live in the bay area, I don't go to the Quilt Guild in San Francisco because I live across the bay, and the East Bay Heritage Quilters Guild is hard to get to for me. So this board is a godsend.
