The planned snacking is working great for me, since I am not out of control with feeling hungry!

Wow, that is great for you. Now if mine would only break. Talked to DD yesterday and she is down to a size 12! Smaller than her Mother for the first time. She has lost nearly 70 lbs. All I need to lose is another 17, I need to get with it.

You are doing great. I'm glad to hear the snack preplanning is helping you. Sometimes doing just one thing different will give you the boost that you needed. Congrats on that 3 lbs loss. That is really big.

I am struggling with lack of energy lately. I'm not sure what I am doing differently. I have been staying up later than usual. Also, since I dropped some weight, I got a little cocky about not taking my meds. and my vitamins regularly like I used to.

This week, I am going to focus on getting to bed earlier each night and getting back to my normal daily regimine of medications and vitamins. Does anyone have any suggestions for raising the energy levels? ZZZzzzzzzzz. . .Linda

Hi Linda: yes get back on those vitamins. I'm a night owl, too and I read somewhere that getting less than 7 hrs sleep per night adds pounds (I don't know why-sure there's some scientific explanation).
Also, walking helps to increase energy and metabolism levels.
Great job everyone-only this week to go. Good luck!!

less than 7 hours sleep? is that why new Mom's have a hard time losing the "baby" weight??? at least that's going to be my excuse, and I'm sticking to it!

Thank you Jan. I am concentrating on the vitamins and meds and the sleep this week. I have been walking on the treadmill at least 3 times a week, but I am preparing for a 5K walk in June, so I will be increasing that to longer periods of time, and maybe I will add a day to it. I have been walking around my yard a lot more now that the weather has started to break. Lots of gardens to check out (bending over to pull weeds is an activity too). I have convinced my DGD (4 yrs old) to take walks in the woods with me. She brings the pretend map to find our way into the woods, and then to find our way back home. This walk is enjoyable on so many levels.
And another thing I stopped concentrating on was drinking enough water. Gee, my mind must be on other things lately. Ok back on track.
Walking, water, sleep, vitamins, healthy food and snacks. This is so simple. . .Focus Makes Me Fabulous!
