lest we forget |
We were in the Blue Mountains on Anzac Day, 2004. It was a wonderful day to be with my Australian family and in a beautiful spot. There were a lot of booths set up, we especially enjoyed visiting with the fire dept that had a booth there.

My husband (Vietnam Veteran) and I are both ex Air Force so we travel to Brisbane to march with our respective units. ANZAC Day is always a special day where we remember and give thanks.
Lest we forget. |
As an addition to Jan in Va's post--do try to go and see the memorial in Bedford, VA. The sculpture is so skillfully done, you can "hear" the bullets striking the water and see one man carrying a wounded comrade up a wall!

yes lest we forget. my HD is retired navy and the whole ship loved your country and the people. A lot
hated to leave when they had to leave port. now that we know what Anzac day is for in your country we will remember. |
And not just Australians, we New Zealanders also commemorate Anzac Day, after all we are the nz in Anzac. Often a day of refection here.

Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

I, to, learned something new today and the poem was very thoughtful and moving.
