Tomatoes are still coming on. I lost count of how many qts. and pints of sauce I've done. I also did stewed and some with peppers and onions.

Thought about getting some peaches but don't have enough people to eat them. Will get apples for sauce and pie filling.

Have onions still in the ground- their tops haven't died yet.

I love having a garden!

Can I get your recipe for the Chocolate Zucchini Cake, please?

Me too please! I have one for zucchini bread that is always a huge hit and is so moist but since I'm addicted to chocolate, I would love to try your chocolate zucchini cake. Thank you so much.

The only thing that went well in my garden this year was tomatoes. I have canned tons of salsa (which is good because we had just finished last years stash). Guess I should just can stewed tomatoes with the rest. My vines are looking pretty sad due to the bad drought we've had this summer. I planted zucchini, yellow squash, acorn and spaghetti squash this year and the squash bugs destroyed all of them. We got a few very small acorn squash and about 5 yellow then nothing else. Had to pull the vines up because of those gross bugs were everywhere. The tomatoes and poblano peppers did great so the only thing canned was the salsa. Crazy year.

Those may be tomato worms. What to do to get rid of those is sprinkle "sevin" on them. You have to wear gloves when you do this. It will take care of worms and any other bug that attacks your tomatoes.

Congrats! I love to can but with my mother in the hospital most of the summer, my overzealous tomato vines had rotting tomatoes on them most of the summer. UUUUGGGHHHHHHH!

My garden is about at the end too, I still have a few cukes, and tomatoes, and I want to plant some Fall spinach!

I am also in northern Mich, near Traverse City. My tomatoes did better this year than any other time. In my garden down state, I only got about 1/4 the yield. I still have a lot to harvest. I freeze mine. I either make sauce or chili.

DH just brought in some too big cukes and a few zuchinni's. One nice tomato too. They are about done for now, but the z's are still going and I have beans also still.

I can see Santa (fed-ex) delivering all kinds of home canning this year instead of quilts to friends. HINT HINT I live on the main road and fed-ex deliveries to my back door for me.
