I make air popped popcorn and drizzle coconut oil and just a little butter. I also whip it and add some essential oils for a lotion.

I cook with it all the time. Coconut smell goes away as it is cooking. I leave mine on the counter for months and have never had it go rancid. Purchase the extra virgin cold pressed - just like when buying olive oil. is also good for weight loss. There is a lot of info on facebook about it too.

have been using it for several years now, I only use the organic- even our local grocery stores stock it now. I used to buy it on the internet and it was expensive. So many medical uses for it,as wells as daily skin care.very good for pets, too.Just add a teaspoon(daily) to their dog food. Most of the stuff you read about it on the internet is true, if you can believe that.

Can you buy it at Wal mart? What is the name of the coconut oil? as some one said Luann was not a good brand so what are the brands to buy?

Yes, you can buy it at WalMart. It's in with the other oils and shortenings. I think there are two or three different brands. Just check the label. I buy organic coconut oil and I've never had it go bad.

My daughter uses it to make her homemade deodorant. She gave me some. No aluminum in it.

Well, now I guess I'm going to have to get some coconut oil! I very seldom believe what I read on the computer but I know I can trust this group. My granddaughter uses it in her smoothies. :)

Coconut oil can be used in the place of butter or other oils in baking. It is a lot healthier than the other oils.

so you spread it on toast instead of margarine?
