I will try it, since I have just discovered that the soybean oil I have been using is toxic to me, and I am afraid of working with olive oil (afraid of it gettting too hot and going rancid). My eye pressures are back to normal, and no Grand Mals. Works for me.

I love coconut oil--there is also one just for the skin and in liquid form. I use it on itchy places and in cooking. Some people use on hair to give it shine. I use it in smoothies and on toast instead of butter. There is one I think that is coconut oil cream or butter--not sure but more fiber in it--I prefer just the coconut oil. As soon as you touch it --it goes from a solid to a liquid. I buy the Spectrum brand. I even bought a jar of coconut sugar the other day--it sprinkles on like sugar.

I am hearing more bad things about soy in products--I can't use it because I take a blood thinner and some are advising using almond or coconut milk in drinks--I use both almond & coconut milk--less calories than regular milk.

I spread it on toast/pancakes/waffles instead of butter.

Well, soy's a goitrogen, it's been linked to certain chemicals and it's a phytoestrogen (a xenoestrogen) so can be linked to estrogen dominance which is linked to still more cancers not to mention lots of other bad symptoms. It also has to be cooked to make it "less" toxic. I don't think it's ever been food but we put it in everything these days!

I've changed to coconut milk. I like it better than almond (which I drank for years) and I find it sits better in my stomach than the almond milk. It's also a little nicer in tea than the almond - creamier more like the milk I can't drink.

I love coconut oil. My friend uses it in her brownies and says it adds a wonderful flavor, though it's very slight. I use it for many things, it's great for your hair and scalp. Also do something called "oil pulling", taking a teaspoon of it before breakfast and swishing for 10 minutes, removes toxins in your mouth and helps with gums and teeth. It works for me.

I always have coconut oil about for hair conditioner and for my nails and general skin use, thank goodness as the other day I badly burnt my arm and frequent applications of coconut oil sorted it out quickly, no home should be without a jar IMO :)

..if soy is not a food type crop why is it grown? In my part of Illinois all I see are corn and soy fields!

Soy used to be used to replenish the soil. It was grown between food crops to help restore nitrogen.
Once we figured out we could make it more digestible by cooking or heavily fermenting it, it "became" food.

It's high in phytates and lectin which are hard for the body to digest, binds to important nutrients and minerals in our bodies causing them to be unavailable for use and the lectins can cause or contribute to leaky gut which has a myriad of health issues associated with it.

Also, this should have read: "Well, soy's a goitrogen, it's been linked to certain cancers"
