Cute story of my 3 yr old granddaughter

My daughter in law was trying to teach my 3 yr old granddaughter about being "thankful" at Thanksgiving. They went out into the yard and collected a bunch of large leaves that had fallen from the tree. She told my granddaughter, Angela that they were going to write things they are thankful for on the leaves and hang them up for Thanksgiving. They sat down at the table and got the markers and leaves, She asked Angela what she was thankful for, Angela thought a minute and said, "my shoes and CAKE" LOLLOL had to share this, it was just too funny. Remember, she is only 3 so different things are important to her.

That is a fantastic idea! And your DGD sounds precious, how did your DIL keeps from laughing? It sounds like you all have something to be thankful for.

Children have a way of reminding us about simplicity..my little DGS is thankful for marshmallows in his hot chocolate.

This reminds me of a passage from the Bible: "He who sits in the heavens laughs"
I really is very sweet and appropriate for 3 years old! :)

How cute. What a great way to teach a child a very valuable lesson.

What's wrong with being "Thankful" for cake? Your DG knows what's good. Kids are great, you have to love the way they think. Thank you for sharing.

Love how the mind of a child works. Nothing wrong with being thankful for cake-lol-
I love your daughter-in-law way of teaching and decorating.

That's great. As a young mom I came upon an idea from a magazine and every year since then, we have pulled out the white tablecloth and written what we were thankful for about that year. It's so much fun to look back at Godzilla, shoes and all other sorts of things we were thankful for throughout the years. My kids are grown now and I'm going to cut it up and make them each their own little tablecloth to start out their families (if they ever get around to it!).
