Ok, I know I already responded, but my daughter lives in northern Indiana close to South Bend and she just sent a picture of the mail carrier at her house. At 2:45 she had well over a foot of snow, so yes mail is delivered in the snow in northern Indiana.

I live on a steep mountain road and we miss mail delivery quite frequently when the roads are icy. I am glad because it is not worth anyone's life just to deliver mail.

well they do here in Illinois in the city , but when i lived in the country and it snowed big time i would not see my mailman sometimes for a couple days till the roads were clear

Our mail carriers carry chains in the winter, and use them.

We get mail snow or not.. the only time they don't deliver is if it's too deep to drive, or too icy to stay on the road.. I feel badly for those men and women.. it can be a very hard, cold, long day sometimes.

It seems pretty obvious that not all postal districts have the same rules for delivery. Our carriers always had to go, rain, sleet, snow or ice it didn't matter. The only exception I ever saw in 23 yrs was the one time that the mail truck couldn't get to our office to bring the mail to us. In that case the district sent our carriers home.
