The Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer (I'm not so much a fan of his other books.) The Clifton Chronicles interested me because the Clifton name is part of my history. This is a series and start at the first. They are about a family in England. It's a family saga, but is full of machinations of characters and is a very interesting series. I recommended it to a friend and we still talk about it years after reading it.
Edited to add- I don't know if this series is on Kindle or any e Reader, but it's been out awhile, so it probably is. Our library has it in hardback. |
I like the Marie Bostwick books. Lots of hers have quilting, knitting. Good reads with friendships!!

Kristen Hannah books are some of my favorites.

Robyn Carr popped into my mind. Some romance, some mystery. A couple different series. I recommend you read them in order. (That is what I like to do). I’ll try to think of someone else I like that is not “gory”.
I love, love, love Linda Castillo’s series of Kate Burkholder. She is an Amish Chief of Police. ***Warning**** a bit gory at times. Still love the series. |
I have a reader and have been buying bargain books (sometimes free) from Book Bub for years. They have everything. If you want to get emails, let them know which genre you prefer.

I read free books all the time on my Kindle....

Have you tried Book Bub, a free site for books. There are a lot of free books and some you pay for. I also get free books from Amazon Prime. The public libraries have free ebooks.

Oh Janiebakes, those sound like great books!
|
Check and see if the Poldark series is in e-reader format.

I have over 4000 book titles in my personal library. I use Calibre to manage the different formats that some of them are in. I love Agatha Christie and have all of her books. Good read for a mystery writer. I also love Nora Roberts she is an excellent read also.
