I've never heard of raw garlic lowering blood pressure, but I do have a friend who gives her dogs each a piece of raw garlic every other day. She claims it keeps them from having fleas.

MY DGF ate raw garlic once then we went to a bridal shower. She let me know what she'd done and asked me to let her know if her breath got stinky so she could pop in a mint. Well, I told her a few times and she'd pop in the mint...as the day wore on it got warm and the last time I told her to take a mint she already had one in her mouth! We then realized it was no longer just her breath but her body too...it was sooo funny. We were sitting on a couch and someone would come over and sit by her and within a few minutes they'd move...she finally had to confess to the room full of women what she'd done. We all just rolled with laughter! Thanks for the memory!

I also have heard that raw garlic is good for you. And you can chop it up into pill-sized pieces and swallow them with a chaser.
I tried it last year, but I asked DH to let me know if I was starting to ... smell like the garlic. Two days after I started my raw-garlic program he gave me the bad news. On the up side, I think I read somewhere that if you smell of garlic it will keep the biting insects away. Trouble is, it might keep people away, too! :? |
