That is a hopeful sign, though the geese here are staying put and filling the park with green poop. Haven't seen a robin yet, but then I usually don't see one this early.

When the more southern states, like Missouri were having those horrible ice storms, I looked out on my snowy landscape and in came a flock of Robins, landing in my little piece of woods, just outside my BR window. They had a total look of surprise as they landed and gazed at the snowy ground. Then they disappeared. Think they headed back south in disappointment.

Nice to know spring is on its way. Here in Tucson, it was 32 degrees at 8am.

We seem to always get the worst of our storms in February and March, just got through one that is now bigger and badder in Texas and Oklahoma. Hope you all are safe and warm. Didn't last too long, but messed up the roads a bunch. Enjoy the beauty, cause there isn't much else you can do

I see geese flying north all the time in winter, just not a lot of them at one time. The weather this year has been so crazy and we just statred getting snow in Feb, now, it won't stop and it seems that once a week we have a storm coming!

Just came home from a short journey and it lifted my spirits as there was masses of snowdrops in the roadside verges and the first young gamboling lambs, spring is coming :)

We have Canadian geese that arrived years ago and stayed, they fly over our house every morning and every evening.;....just over the roof top. Our subdivision has a large pond and there are lots of trees around and a city park. We live in North Texas, so it is a real treat to see these beautiful birds all the time.

Here in North Dakota I saw 2 groups of geese flying north. Is spring coming soon?
My daughter saw some robins a few weeks ago. |
Just last night my husband said "look at all the honkers flying east" ... and as soon as they passed another huge flock went west. I came to the conclusion that geese are stupid.

We might get out of this alive?
But why, oh why, just as our hearts are getting lighter with the longer gentler days are they slamming us with DAYLIGHT SAVINGS and plunging us back into darkness. 12 days from now. Isn't that a light early. And rabbits destroyed my garden this winter, sigh! TRees, shrubs, everything. MaryKatherine |
