Our previous church was helping to support a small children's home in southern Tijuana..about 35 kids. We went down about every 6 weeks or so to take food and other supplies. We would spend the weekend, sharing Jesus with the kids and doing work around the place. Our kids learned so much there...how not to value material goods so much. It was only a 4 hour trip from home by car, so pretty easy to do and wasn't expensive. We did it for over 3 years, and I have very fond memories. Very scary to go there now...with the drug wars going on. We don't go any more. Sad.

I haven't, but GD has been to Mexico, the Bahamas, and this summer Peru. She really enjoys all that, but this will probably be the last for a while since she is in grad school.

I spent six weeks volunteering at a camp in CA.

I have not, but DH has been to Belize several years ago and built a church, school, and re-painted seveal homes.
Three folks from our church just got back from Guatemala two weeks ago and will present their experiences tomorrow in our church service.
Last year we had 4 or 5 go to Russia and tried to work with the street kids without much success. They did go to several orphanages and help there.
