It made me shake so bad I looked like I had a drug problem. I was also looking like I had a drug problem. ;-)

I have taken it a couple of times for a week at a time each for asthuma. It cleared my asthuma quickly and I had tons of energy...no real side effects

I have never taken it, but my late husband had to take it at least once or twice a year. It really affected him badly. He said it felt like he was trying to crawl outside of his skin, and he was so jittery. He was also the most easy going person you would ever meet. Totally different story on prednisone. He acutally called a nurse a B.... and he would never, never, never have done this without the meds. The VA hospital finally had to let me help, and had to keep one nurse out of his room. I never knew how he would react to something with this drug.

I'm allergic to it. Ended up with a head to toe rash, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. It was in the 90s in the summer, loved being ill.

weight gain/dripping sweats/insomnia but it is the only thing to relieve PMR pain/stiffness.

Insomnia, not hungry at all, puffy face I was happy I was only on it for 5 days!!!

My husband was on it for a very short period of time several years ago. He hated it, said he made him very jittery, he was short-fused on it. Thank god he took himself off of it.
Hope you get some relief :)

After being told that I need both knees replaced, the dr also said that longterm steriod use is bad for your joints.

I end up on it every time I have a bad flare up of Fibromyalgia...I hate it! Hot flashes, insomnia, can't stop eating...and gaining weight.
BTW, the headaches come from going off the med. too fast.

Rather than hitting "Quote Reply" to each & every reply may I just say, 'DITTO' to all of the above!

I had to do a few rounds of prednisone for acute sinus & bronchial inflamation that morphed into asthma. Hated the stuff. Thanks to it & the high-dose inhalers I am still trying to get rid of the 30lbs I packed on, have scars on my arms & face from breakouts that wouldn't heal, am finally feeling like I'm not host to a simbiant alien being, and 7 months later, I think I am on the road to recovery. Now if only I could lose the 30lbs as easily as I gained them...
