They now sell a sewing machine light that attaches to your machine with an adhesive pad. It is pricey @ about $50, but I have one machine that needs it and it is wonderful.

Isn't that the truth ... after you hit fifty the aches and pains turn into cronic conditions. That is the pits that you can't even sew. I would be in sad shape if I couldn't even express myself with sewing. I have trouble executing the stairs sometimes in my home. I have thought that it won't be too long before I will have to get a one story. I hate the thought of that. But, if you have to you have to. You know what I mean?

I am wondering why this happened? Do you suppose that the injections put too much strain on the old bones? I take that gluclosamine clortriton (sp??) stuff sometimes and it seems to help. My doctor said my vitamin D level was so low he put me onto a high dosage one you take once a week! I have to take the daily suppliments now. I guess it is very common these days to be low in the D. I wonder why? Our foods must be not what it used to be .... pestacides and such.

Soak a wash cloth in some witch hazel and let it sit there for about a half an hour. I know it will bring the swelling down and the redness. That stuff is amazing!

Gee Littlehud .... I sure hope you can find a solution soon. And I am very sorry that you are feeling so bad. And I hope the doctor's visit is productive.

I may be falling apart, but it's not going to get the best of me!!! Just do what you have to to get it fixed..a buddy of mine kept putting off knee replacement because he was only 50 afraid it would have to be done again when he was 75, but at 51 he couldn't stand it any longer and now can't believe how great he feels!! I kept telling him, look a bus could take you out tomorrow, do what you have to to enjoy life today!! Best of luck to you, we'll all say a little prayer :D :D

Thanks for the hint. My daughter (who works in surgery with the ortho Drs ) thinks the injections may have worked loose some bone chips that were caught between the bones. I won't know til Monday, but that would be easiest to fix. Guess it's wait and see.

When the Dr mentioned knee replacement I said no!!!! After this weekend I may reconsider.

We will all hope for good news or an easy fix for you. Please let us know what happens

I sure hope they figure it out and you become pain free!!
Just take it easy!

littlehud, I wish you the very best. You will be in my thoughts. My Mom put off surgery for severe spinal stenosis for as long as she could stand it, and now she can stand up for more than 5 minutes without all the pain and pressure. I know people who've had knee replacements, and they're doing pretty good! Maybe surgery isn't the answer for you, but I wish you luck!

Have you had your appointment yet? Hope you're feeling better!

littlehud 04-20-2009 06:30 PM

Doing OK. The DR says part of my cartilage in my knee broke off and thats what caused the pain. It has worked itself loose because of the arthritis.
What a pain. There is a 50% chance of it happening again. If it does I will have to have a MRI and surgery to clean my knee out. I'm betting on the odds that it will not happen again. Hope I'm right. Anyway I'm off work til Friday and then we'll see what happens. Still hurts, but not as bad. Thanks for everyones concern and prayers.
