I keep my altoid tins for straight pins too as well as my mini sewing kit when I hand sew my binding on while watching TV at night. Keep a pair of mini snips, bobbins of thread, needle and straight pins. Can close it when done for the night so Kitty doesn't play with it.

I like the Godiva Pearls container. I buy the chocolate just to get the container. Altoids are too strong smelling for me but I like the tins after they have been aired out a long time.

And, there's that wonderful product at some quilting stores...Lavishea Lotion Bar. It comes in a little round tin (could put in used 45mm rotary blades (not sure it will fit 60mm yet). I've purchased 2 and they last a long time. The first scent was Lavender and I'm using Plumeria.........love them. My hands are always so dry....so this is in my sewing room then in my purse when we travel.......Plus the tins are CUTE!

I, too, keep and reuse the Altoids/Whitmans tins for pins, needles, etc. I don't care for the mints, so I have been known to discard the mints and wash and reuse the tins. I know this is wasteful, but I always need more tins for pins or buttons or some other small items in the sewing room.

I don`t know how lucky I am, but I have lots of the child proof pill bottles, and use them for small sewing items, like thimbles , sewing needles, pins, etc. Also I carry those little pills that so many of us do for the heart, ( in my purse) in them, so if by chance a child would get into it they wouldn`t get hurt. I also dry flower seeds and when they are dry store them and label the bottle.
