I-Spy Accessory!
2 Attachment(s)
I finished up a roll of plastic wrap the other day. As I went to add the container to the recycle bin I thought, wow! this is a really sturdy tube. Don't throw it out - make something out of it!
And so.... Just an idea to "throw out" :) to all of you who think the way I do.
My grandson just turned two this month - and although he knows all his letters and can count to ten - shapes and colors are still to be mastered. Supplies are simple: A sturdy tube, colorful paper, Mod Podge, some paper towels for coating, a small (1/2") brush, and your imagination.
I applied a layer of Mod Podge to the back of some green paper and covered the tube. Cut different sizes of circles from red ( a hole puncher comes in handy here), squares of yellow, and triangles of blue. Then fix an adult beverage of your choice while the first layer dries. Add layers of your cut out pieces - I put MP on the back - gave 'em time to set up - and then put more layers of MP over all. Then add more and more and more pieces and layers of MP to make a fairly indestructible, colorful tube. I couldn't get to sleep later and found myself at 2 in the morning adding one last finish coat. Probably a good idea to go over the tube edges as well to keep it all stable.
I babysat Malcolm before work today - and I think I succeeded in making a quick, educational, and appealing new toy!
Lots of things for little eyes to spy are everywhere!
