Yeah, so did I. Came back normal. But some of the medical people I know told me to check on the Internet since the usual TSH test is very unreliable. The eyebrow plus my always being cold when my sister and daughters are warm suggested to the Doctor that I did, maybe have a problem. We'll discuss this at our next appointment. |
Well I don't have any eyebrow hairs extending beyond the pencil, but then I never have. I'm 64, does this mean I have had a thyroid problem all my life?
|
I never heard that!! I HAVE heard to take a pencil and put it under your boob, if it doesn't fall down, then don't go bra-less.......that works for me!!! :) :)

This is a very accurate that Dr. Oz mentioned. One day while at my doctor's office for a checkup on my broken ankle, she looked at my eyes and said she wanted to run a blood test. I was like, what?? For my broken ankle?? She said "no", TSH 3rd Generation to test your thyroid. Sure enough, I was almost 2 full points off the charts on the high end, which means I have hypothyroidism (under active thyroid)! Geez, just one more thing I have to have checked regularly!! :(

Put a pencil vertically along side your face, lined up with the outer corner of your eye. If you do not have any eyebrow hair on the other side of the pencil (opposite from your eye) it could mean you may possibly have a thyroid problem. Dr. Oz said that the eyebrow hair of people with thyroid problems starts to fall out from the outer side of the brow. I though that was interesting! I've taken thyroid medicine for nearly 20 years and for those of you that do...I just started an added medicine, bc just the thyroid replacement pill no longer does the whole job for me. I never knew there was another pill so doc's have been trying to straighten my system out for seven months and I'm still not on track. Yup, look at the legs too. I don't shave!   |
I have thin eyebrows...and I have had thyroid problems all my life. I also have no hair on my arms, and not much on my legs. Worked out well being a swimmer and all...lol
