When I looked at the date today I'll admit I became a bit discouraged. We're halfway through and not only have I not lost, but I've put a few pounds on. :( Not feeling well today and my big goal for today is to make sure I drink enough water. Hope the rest of you are more inspired than I am!!

Hi, I have extremely limited internet access from the hospital, but I wanted to share that knee surgery #1 is behind me. Day after surgery was a nightmare - believing that won't happen with this final surgery.

Pat has been a wonderful role model for me - I know I can do this.

Until next time..............:)

Leann, I am praying that things go well with the second surgery.
I was in Florida in Madiera beach for the week then the wedding. Eating wasn't as bad as it could have been. We walked a ton. A long walk on the beach every morning and evening. My lowest day step total on my fitbit is today, I will only make 10,000 steps. Most other days it was at least 12,00 with my top day at 16,000 steps. We didn't have internet but I was stealing it when I could from my brothers condo. It didn't work very well.
I don't think I can ever properly describe the wedding. The rumor was that the budget was $500,000. I think they went over budget. It was completely amazing. I have never seen anything like it. Friday night was the Sangeet. They talked about the bride and groom and there was some singing and things. Of course there was alcohol. There was a drink named after them. All kinds of Indian food and some american food. Plus desserts. It was all decorated gorgeous. I had my a henna design put on my hand. Saturday they had a light breakfast (not really, tons of food) followed by the Barrat ceremony. The groom rode in on a horse drawn carriage while drums played and we all danced and marched. There was a drone flying overhead taking pictures. There were 5 photographers. The Hindu ceremony was 2 hours but interesting. Followed by an amazing lunch. There were 4 buffets, each a different theme followed by an American and an Indian dessert buffet. We had a little bit of free time so some of us went to the pool and rode the water slides. Then I had to re-do my hair etc and go to the Catholic ceremony. There were wedding planners all over with walkie talkies coordinating all of it. It was like on a tv show. OMG all of the sari's were so gorgeous. All of the Indian women had a different sari for each event. One was more beautiful than the next. I could go on for 2 pages about this wedding. The bride started Friday night in a dress and ended up in a sari. SHe had her own personal dresser/ makeup artist who was to be available to her whenever she need anything. Just all unbelievable. I will have to tell about the rest of it in another post.
IT WAS AMAZING!

That wedding does sound incredible. Wish i could have been there.
Leann, I hope you feel better with each day that passes. I will be praying for you.
Cindy, how did you do with your water today? That's one area I do really well with. I'm even doing well with exercising lately. My problem is putting too much food in my mouth. I just can't seem to stop.

Pam the wedding was beyond incredible. The reception was for 500 people. Each separarte buffet station had an ice sculpture. The first one was The Leaning Tower of Piza- Italian food. Next ice sculpture was a Buddist temple with stir fry and other Oriental dishes. Then a Mexican temple with some quesidillias etc, Last one was The Taj Mahal with Indian food. There were 2 carving stations with turkey and chicken. In the center was an ice scutpture of the Eiffel tower with all kinds of amazing desserts. (I had way too many of those) and another station with Indian desserts. I am not a big fan of most cakes but the wedding cake was delicious too. There was just one amazing thing after another.

I made a good diet dish for dinner. Cauliflower Alfredo sauce. It was good. The recipe says to chop a whole head of califlower into managable sized pieces and boil it for 30 minutes until reall soft. Save 1/2 cup of the cooking water. Dissolve 1/2 of a chicken boullion cube in the cooking water. Put his in the blender with 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese and a little bit of salt and pepper. I added garlic. Blend until smooth. I used my Nutra Ninja. This would make a really huge batch. I cut everything by about 1/4. I used about 1/4 of the head of broccoli. This made plenty. I put it over zoodles my other new favorite. I bought a veggetti at Bed Bath and Beyond. (about$15) You can cut most veggies into spaghetti like strands. It works really well. I saute the strands in a little bit of olive oil, Then put the sauce over it. This also works for spaghetti etc. Spaghetti squash is OK but I like this better.

That sounds good. It was just cauliflower, right? No broccoli? I've heard of a spiral cutter to make noodles. I wonder how much difference there is. I will have to check into it.

I had a more expensive spiral cutter from William Sanoma. I think it was $45. I like this one better. Just a little thing you hold in your hand really easy to use and clean. I returned the fancier one. I have tried carrots too. I like the zucchini better. Of course I love zucchini. it won't cut big veggies but it wors for what I want.

Hang in there. It is discouraging to not only not loose but then to gain is utterly frustrating. I know you quit WW but were you able to sign up with myfitnesspal like your DH? I use loseit app, scales, measuring cups and spoons. It is harder to do it on your own. Oh for the loseit app I only use what is provided free. If you can not use your phone for apps you can also do it online. Just go to their website.

I'm going to definitely join you all for July's! I've been struggling with my weight since I was a teenager, and on top of that, I just had two kids back to back. While I did well during my pregnancies and I'm now lower than my pre-preg weight (yay!) I still need to lose a lot (~90lbs to go).
